About Coordinating Council Session on training for aviation specialists

Training continues to be an important factor in achieving safety objectives. The IAC Coordinating Council on training for aviation specialists of the Member States of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Use of Airspace established in accordance with the Resolution of the 4th Session of the Council on Aviation and Airspace Use from 10 November 1994 coordinates the issues in the field of aviation specialists training in the states of the region. The Council is formed from representatives of civil aviation departments and providers of education services providing training for aviation specialists.

In accordance with the plan of basic measures from 28 September - 01 October 2016 the regular IAC Coordinating Council session on training for aviation specialists of the Member States of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Use of Airspace was held in Adler, Russian Federation. 

The following issues were considered at the session: 

- upgrading the training system for aviation inspectors and establishing a consolidated group of organisations of education providers of the Member States of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Use of Airspace on development of unified training programs for state aviation inspectors (in Russian); 

- implementation of regulatory and methodological documentation in educational process; 

- implementation of the activities aimed at upgrading programs of professional training as well as training, retraining and advanced training systems for teaching and training personnel in civil aviation; 

- identification of common approaches and requirements for harmonization and unification of training plans and programs, educational and qualification characteristics in the areas of complete and additional professional education, taking into account ICAO requirements; 

- expanding the practice of interaction between educational institutions for the exchange of information using information and telecommunication and distance educational technologies, electronic and online learning; 

- harmonization of existing professional standards in connection with a change in the aircraft fleet structure operated by airlines of the Member States of the Agreement.

Taking into account the 25th anniversary of the Interstate Aviation Committee, which is celebrated this year, the session participants supported the results of the Coordinating Council and the IAC initiative aimed at improving the quality of civil aviation specialists training in the region.
