From the 1 to 4 March 2016 within the framework of ICAO-IAC regional Project RER/01/901 (COSCAP-CIS) the Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft Workshop (SAFA) was held in Rostov-on-Don.

The workshop was organized by the Airbus Company, ICAO, Interstate Aviation Committee and Rostransnadzor with the support of the Donavia airlines.

The following topics were discussed at the workshop:

-         SAFA technical aspects and SAFA database;

-         SAFA inspection items:

A.   Cockpit;

B.    Cabin;

C.   Aircraft condition;

D.   Cargo area;

Practical event-based training was conducted. The workshop includes simulation inspection in an Airbus aircraft at the Rostov-on-Don Airport.

To illustrate the guidance materials the attendees were shown an educational film on the topic and given practical tasks to consolidate the knowledge acquired.

The workshop was attended by 53 aviation experts of the State Aviation Oversight and Transport Safety Oversight Department of the Southern, North Caucasus Federal Regions; Central, Southern and Privolzhskiy Departments of the Federal Air Transport Agency, as well as representatives of Donavia airlines.
