About the Summit «Global aviation safety road map»

      On 9-11 June in the Interstate Aviation Committee the Summit on "Aviation safety road map" organized jointly by the International Civil Aviation Organization, Interstate Aviation Committee, USA Federal Aviaiton Administration, Boeing and Airbus Airlines was held. 
      The Summit was held within the framework of ICAO-IAC flight safety international project implementation. 
      Representatives of aviation authorities of the contracting states to the interstate Agreement on Civil Aviaiton and Use of Airspace took part in the Summit work. Karsten Thiel, Regional Director of the ICAO North-Atlantic office, was elected as a Chairperson. 
      Sessions of the working groups in two areas -  «Disadvantages in using Safety Management Systems» and «The problem of the lack of qualified aviation personnel» were held within the framework of the Summit. Working groups discussed the process of Road map development, made resolution and the draft regional plan for the Road map implementation for the nearest year.
