About the workshop in the Republic of Belarus at Belaeronavigatsia Republican Unitary Air Navigation Services Enterprise

     On April 1-2, 2009 in the Republic of Belarus at Belaeronavigatsia Republican Unitary Air Navigation Services Enterprise the workshop was held which purpose was to discuss implementation of WGS-84 geodetic system in the Republic of Belarus, prospects and new approaches to upgrading specialists training system (procedures design), practice exchange and coordination of specialists activity in the field of navigational flight support. 
The workshop was organized by the Interstate Aviation Committee jointly with ICAO European/North Atlantic Office and Eurocontrol. 
     Representatives of aviation authorities, research institutes, geodetic organizations and CA aeronautical information services of the contracting states to the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Use of Airspace took part in the workshop. 
     The Deputy Chairperson of the IAC Commission on harmonization and coordination of flight safety support programs I.P. Tvorogov presented a report at the workshop. 
     During working meetings the mutual understanding of the need to coordinate issues connected with the expeditious implementation of WGS-84 system was reached, the practice of conducting independent audits of work related to the transition to WGS-84 and improving the system for specialists training in the field of navigational flight support was approved.
