The accident with AS-350 RA-07259 helicopter owned by "MKB leasing" LLC occurred in the Leningrad region (in the area of Sukhodolskoye lake) on May 14, 2016. According to the available information the pilot and a passenger on board were killed. The rotorcraft sank.

The Interstate Aviation Committee has assigned the Investigation team of the accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.

The Interstate Aviation Committee has completed the investigation of the accident with AS-350B3 RA-07259 helicopter owned by NDV-Estate-for-you Ltd, occurred in Leningrad Region (RF) on May 14, 2016.

The accident with AS-350B3 RA-07259 helicopter was caused by its collision with power lines when performing a low altitude flight.

Most probably contributing factors were:

- PIC's insufficient knowledge of available artificial obstacles in the flight area;

- PIC's insufficient awareness in flight;

- lack of power line wires' marking, and the low visibility of these wires against a lake surface background.

Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
