In the period 16-18 May 2023 the 11-th International Scientific and Practical Congress of the Association of Aerospace, Marine, Extreme and Ecological Medicine of Russia and the 41-st Session of the Coordinative Advisory Aeromedical Council of the Interstate Aviation Committee were held in the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC). These events were dedicated to the improvement of the organization of the medical and psychophysiological support of transport complex specialists for the purpose of their safe activity in extreme conditions, prolongation of their professional longevity and accident-free operation.
The main task of the Forum is to consolidate the efforts of the professional community, legislative and regulatory bodies of the CIS States in the development of a unified concept of the organization of a set of medical and psychophysiological support measures, the use of regulated scientifically based methods of professional training and rehabilitation, the development of abilities and psycho-emotional resilience of specialists in extreme professions for the safe operation of the transport system.
Representatives of the ministries and organizations of the healthcare system and transport complex of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan discussed cooperation development issues in the field of medical and psychological effectiveness and safety of the extreme professions specialists activity and the issues of expanding the dialogue between the interested organizations and departments, specialists, who determine the efficiency and occupational safety of people engaged in dangerous professions, their psychophysiological readiness to carry out acceptable safe activities in extreme conditions.
Opening the Forum, Chairman of the Interstate Aviation Committee Oleg Storchevoy emphasized that the CIS States are pursuing a consistent policy to address problems in the field of healthcare and transport safety. Safety of specialists in extreme professional activity, their professional health are the important components of the stable functioning of transport complex enterprises. Efficient and safe operation of modern technology, especially aviation technology, requires a system approach based on a comprehensive consideration of the physiological and psychological capabilities of a specialist in the complex technical systems management. The important role of professional associations and public organizations in summarizing the experience of the leading specialists work in the field of extreme, aerospace, marine and ecological medicine was noted. Joint holding of the IAC Coordinative Advisory Aeromedical Council and the Congress of the Association is an important contribution to the improvement of professional skills and leads to the consolidation of specialists engaged in related potentially dangerous activity areas in Russia and the CIS States.
In the course of the plenary session and the work of sections the results of the 30 years of activity of the Association and the IAC CAAC were summed up, further development perspectives were determined, ways to solve the problems of coordination and harmonization of the interstate and interdepartmental interaction in the matters of medical and psychophysiological support, human resources and educational activities development were outlined.
The participants were informed about the new developments and requirements in the field of clinical medicine, medical expertise and rehabilitation treatment for extreme professions. Special attention was paid to the issues of fatique in the development of aircraft accidents and the need for its early diagnosis using highly informative automated systems for its prevention.
During the 3-rd day of the Forum the participants visited the VDNKh museum complex Cosmonautics and Aviation Center Space Pavilion, where they got acquainted with interesting and outstanding people, historical moments in the aircraft and space technology development, rare exhibits and archival documents. Forum participants express their special gratitude to the Heroes of the Russian Federation Fedor Yurchikhin, Sergey Avdeev and Aleksandr Lazutkin for the most interesting information, informative and emotional excursion and an unforgettable meeting.
The draft resolution was unanimously approved by the Council members.
The event was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere with the high professionalism of the participants and excellent organization.
