About participation in the XV Russian National Congress with international participation "PROFESSION and HEALTH"

On 24-27 September 2019, the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) took part in the XV Russian National Congress with international participation “PROFESSION and HEALTH” (Samara).

The Congress was held with the participation of the World Health Organization (WHO), International Labor Organization (ILO), International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), and International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).

Over 200 Russian and international experts in the field of occupational health and occupational pathology, labor protection and industrial ecology, hygienists of all profiles, practicing physicians of related occupations, specialists in medical and social expertise and rehabilitation, public health and social sphere, business, community and trade union leaders took part in the Congress events.

The Congress presented reports on the most pressing issues of regulatory, methodological and practical medical support for the working population in modern socio-economic conditions. Particular attention was paid to innovative technologies for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with occupational and industrial diseases; assessment and management of professional and environmental risks, modern information technologies, issues of the effectiveness of recreational activities; training in occupational health, aspects of health-saving technologies in production.

An important part of the Congress was focused on problematic issues of assessing and managing the risks of fatigue and stress including in civil aviation. The report “Labor stress and fatigue of civil aviation pilots on modern types of aircraft” presented new data on the real levels of labor intensity of pilots and assessment of their fatigue level when performing operating procedures during the entire flight time. The report presents new methodological approaches and criteria for assessing labor intensity and fatigue among flight crew members of civil aviation aircraft. The issues of examination on sensorineural hearing loss of aviation personnel were considered.

Congress materials were published in a special September issue (No. 9) of the magazine “Occupational Medicine and Industrial Ecology”, which is part of the HAC and RSCI list.
