On April 28, 2017 representatives of the Interstate Aviation Committee took part in XXVII meeting of the Council on collaboration in the field of healthcare of CIS member states in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic) where together with others the issues connected with problems of medical support of civil aviation activity of CIS member states were considered.
Participants of the meeting discussed results and prospects of collaboration in the field of healthcare and ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of CIS countries' population. Issues of interpectoral collaboration including prevention of emergencies in the field of public healthcare in civil aviation were considered.
Follow-up to the forum results the standing joint Working group on the issues of ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of CIS civil aviation was established, Provision and Programme of activities were approved, it was recommended by the Council to delegate dedicated experts to Ministries of Health of CIS states for group work.
Participants of the Council meeting were informed about the results of 5th European ICAO-WHO meeting on global mechanism of collaboration on Prevention and Management of Public Health events in Civil Aviation (CAPSCA) – CAPSCA–EUR/5) held in Budapest (Republic of Hungary, October, 2016). Considering the relevancy of ICAO-WHO Programme (CAPSCA), the Council took in consideration the invitation of representatives of CIS countries health administrations to take part in regular 6th CAPSCA-EUR/6 meeting scheduled for 12-14 July 2017 in Minsk (Republic of Belarus).
IAC is the participating organization of CAPSCA-EUR implementing cooperation and coordination of civil aviation authorities of Commonwealth states to consolidate the efforts on issues of medical support and CAPSCA Programme implementation.
Follow-up to the results of the Council on collaboration in the field of CIS healthcare the Vice-Chairperson of Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Konysbek Zhusupbekov emphasized that participation of influential international organizations in the meeting is an indication of interest among the participants in close collaboration aimed at addressing the important issues of healthcare in the region.
