From 12 to 14 July 2017 (Minsk, Belarus) experts of the Interstate Aviation Committee and interdisciplinary Working group on issues of medical support of civil aviation of CIS member states took part in Sixth Pan European meeting held within Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of Public Health Events in Civil Aviation (CAPSCA-EUR/6).
Event is organized by the Republic of Belarus, ICAO European and North Atlantic Office, WHO European Regional Office and Interstate Aviation Committee and was aimed at upgrading events to address coordination and harmonization of activities on prevention and management of threats to public health, counteraction of aviation and public health authorities in planning and preparedness for emergencies. Participants from more than 30 countries took part in the forum.
IAC experts as coordinating body of aviation authorities of CIS member states of CAPSCA programme reported on activities on coordination and interaction of public health and aviation authorities of CIS member states to consolidate efforts in CAPSCA Programme implementation including on taken decision by the Council on cooperation in the field of public health of CIS member states (XXVII meeting, April 2017, Bishkek) about establishing interdisciplinary Working group related to these activities.
In addition to discussing strategic issues the meeting Programme included elements of apprentice training and information exchange regarding emergency response.
In order to train technical advisers of CAPSCA member states the opportunities of interdisciplinary coordination on prevention of bringing especially dangerous infection and implementation of preparedness plans of public health in civil aviation were demonstrated on the basis of Minsk-2 National Airport. Demonstration exercises on evacuation and assistance to passengers of aircraft in distress were carried out for CPASCA meeting participants at the test site of branch of the "Institute of retraining and advanced training" of University of Civil Defense of the Republic of Belarus.
