The official visit to Minsk of the Interstate Council President, IAC Chairperson T. Anodina within the framework of which the meeting with Prime-Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Minister of Transport and Communication, civil aviation authorities heads took place was held on October 12.
In the course of the meeting the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Belarus A.V. Kobyakov T. Anodina exspressed her appreciation for the emphasis given by the President of the country, him personally and government to civil aviation development, for "constructive position in the issues of integration in different fields".
T. Anodina reported to the Prime-Minister on the Interstate Council and IAC activity results within the framework of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Airspace Use for 25-year period, regional cooperation success and plans on enhanced international aviation programs in the light of Interstate Council 35th Session, ICAO 39th Asssembly and signed ICAO-IAC agreements including in the field of aviation specialists training for contracting states of the Agreement.
The Prime-Minister noted that great emphasis is given to aviation in Belarus - aircraft-repair plant increasing opportunities, Minsk Airport has been completely reconstructed, "Belavia" Airlines development is in progress.
"There are no small details in aviation and we fully understand it. Our collaboration is for the welfare of aviation services users - both citizens and guests of the country, - he noted. - We consider that collaboration with the Interstate Aviation Committee is effective and we hope that it will continue to develop in future".
T. Anodina thanked the Prime-Minister for appreciation of the IAC efficiency and for support.
Wide range of issues connected with the development of civil aviation, its role in the region's economy, influence of aviation on global issues was discussed during the meeting.
Currently the Republic of Belarus and IAC collaboration within the framework of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Airspace Use is carried out in the fields of accident investigation, certification of aircraft equipment, aircraft repair enterprises, airports and facilities, aviation specialists training.
The parties emphasized good integration potential for further enhanced collaboration including in the field of aviation security, certification of the certain services which are one of key areas according to Kobyakov.
In the course of the meeting with the Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus Aviation Department the constructive and substantial dialogue on the issues of further collaboration areas implementation was held. The parties noted with satisfaction the similarity of approaches on the majority of issues connected with aviation industry. General consensus on the need to consolidate further efforts and resources in order to ensure the compliance of civil aviation systems of the region states with the best global standards, the ICAO Standards and recommended Practices was expressed.
T. Anodina assured the participants of the meetings that the Interstate Council on Aviation and Use of Airspace, Interstate Aviation Committee will continue to give high priority to the issues of integration cooperation with the states of our region in order to contribute to safe and sustained development of civil aviation.
