On May 9-10 the official visit of the Interstate Council President, IAC Chairperson T. Anodina took place in Baku. During the visit working meetings with heads of State Civil Aviation Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan were held.
Following the meeting T. Anodina and A. Mamedov - Director of the State Civil Aviation Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed the Agreement on cooperation in the field of accident investigation and prevention and Memorandum of understanding in the field of professional education, certification of aircraft equipment and airports.
Signing of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of accident investigation and prevention is the result of long-term cooperation of the parties in the field of flight safety promotion in the region and will allow the Republic of Azerbaijan to ensure full compliance with the ICAO Standards and Recommended practices (Annex 13 to ("Convention on international civil aviation") and implement the principle on the independence of accident investigation body. Enhanced collaboration within the framework of signed Agreement will allow the parties to improve cooperation on accident and incident investigation and development and implementation of activities aimed at their prevention and flight safety promotion in civil aviation.
The Agreement signed in Baku in accordance with provisions of "Convention on international civil aviation" and "Manual on Regional Accident and Incident Investigation Organization" (ICAO Document 9946) will allow extensive international experience and IAC resources for independent investigation of accidents.
Memorandum of understanding in the field of professional education, certification of aircraft equipment and airports signed by parties is also the result of 25-year cooperation of the Interstate Council/IAC and the Republic of Azerbaijan in various fields to ensure safe and effective civil aviation activity.
Mutual capacity utilization in the field of certification of civil aircraft equipment (aircraft and components), certification of civil aircraft equipment manufacture, certification of international categorized aerodromes and their equipment, international programs on specialists training is provided within the framework of signed Memorandum considering IAC best practices, interest of the Republic of Azerbaijan airlines in expansion of aircraft fleet by purchasing advanced type of aircraft MC-21, Boeing-737 MAX, etc, endeavour to reduce organizational and financial pressure on aviation enterprises and recognition of the growing trend towards deepening international cooperation in the field of personnel training, design, manufacture and use of civil aircraft equipment products.
In order to develop international relations, business ties and tourism the implementation of signed Memorandum provides the use of qualified capacity of National Aviation Academy of Azerbaijan and other educational centers with which parties will develop and implement international vocational training system.
