On May 16, 2017 the meeting with ICAO European and North Atlantic Regional Office panel on its working visit in Baku was held in the headquarters of the Interstate Council on Aviation and Use of Airspace in Baku.
In the course of the meeting prospects and priorities of international cooperation strategy between parties were discussed.
Guests were briefed in detail about the Interstate Council/IAC activity within the framework of Interstate Agreement on Civil Aviation and Use of Airspace implementation, regional cooperation success and plans on enhanced international programs on aviation in the light of decisions of 35th Session of the Interstate Council, ICAO 39th Assembly and ICAO-IAC agreements signed in its course in September, 2017.
Parties discussed in detail the initiative of Interstate Council/IAC - project of prospective interstate system of aviation specialists training on the ICAO audit results as new strategy of integrated cooperation in training management.
Intensive development of aviation specialists, state inspectors training programs in various areas of aviation industry activity including aviation security, flight safety, airworthiness and others based on ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices and regulatory documents (Aviation Regulations) of the Interstate Aviation Committee is emphasized in this project.
National Aviation Academy of Azerbaijan, Belarusian State Academy of Aviation, Kazaernavigation, Saint-Petersburg State Civil Aviation University, representatives of other contracting states expressed interest in participation.
Following the negotiations the parties emphasized good integration potential for further enhanced collaboration and agreed on the need of further consolidation of efforts and resources to ensure compliance of civil aviation system of contracting states of the Agreement with the best global standards, ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices.The meeting was held in working and friendly environment.
