About the official visit of the Interstate Council President, IAC Chairperson T. Anodina to the IATA headquarters

On 2 February 2018 in the IAC headquarters of the International Air Transport Association in Geneva the official meeting of the Interstate Council/IAC delegation headed by the Interstate Council President, IAC Chairperson T. Anodina with the IATA Director General Alexandre de Juniac with participation of the IATA regional heads was held. 

During the meeting T. Anodina and A. de Juniac emphasized the importance of constructive cooperation of IATA and IAC over 25 years based on signed Agreements and discussed a wide range of issues connected with implementation of a new Agreement with the IATA from 6 September 2017. 

The opinion on the need of further consolidation of efforts and resources of organisations in order to ensure the compliance of civil aviation systems of the contracting states of the Agreement with the ICAO Standards and recommended practices to ensure sustinable and cost-effective development of air transport communication in the region and in the world in general was expressed.  

Alexandre de Juniac emphasized the importance of the activities carried out by the Interstate Council/IAC on implementation of international programmes in the field of flight safety, firstly independent investigation and development of measures on accidents prevention, aviation security and stressed the need of further development of these activities.  

T. Anodina assured the participants of the meeting that the Interstate Council and IAC fully support the ICAO programmes: "No Country Left Behind" and IATA "Partnership for security" and will continue to prioritize the issues of counteraction with the organisations with the view to assisting states and air companies of the region in development of safe, sustainable and cost-effective air communication. 

The meeting was held in a spirit of full professional mutual understanding and in a friendly atmosphere. The parties expressed satisfaction with the discussion held and mutual plans of long-term cooperation.
