About issuing international Certificate to Grozny (Severny) Airport

      On November 6, 2009 the Interstate Aviation Committe issued international Certificate to Grozny (Severny) Airport.
      In accordance with instructions of the President of the Russian Federation from December 11, 2009 № VP-P4-7329 on giving international status to Grozny (Severny) Airport, the representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Chechen Republic, specialists of the relevant authorities and "Vainakhavia" aviation enterprise have conducted extensive work on building necessary infrastructure of international sector. 
        Currently the Airport has reconstructed runway sized 2500х45 meters equipped with the instrument landing system SP-90 of domestic manufacture, high intensity lighting system of "TRANSKON" Company (Czech Republic), KRAMS automated meteorological system than enables to accommodate aircraft with high regularity and flight safety.
        During certification at Grozny (Severny) Airport the IAC specialists carried out much work on chekcing the compliance of radiotechnical, lighting, meteorological, emergency and safety equipment, aerodrome electrical power systems. The condition and bearing capacity of surfaced runways, obstacles effect at aerodrome environs were assessed.  
       Based on positive results of work on assessing aerodrome operation sutiability the IAC Commision on certification of aerodromes and equipment certification took decision to issue international Certificate to Grozny (Severny) Airport.
