About the meeting of the IAC Chairperson T. Anodina and IATA's Director General G. Bisignani
On April 15, 2009 the meeting of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) Chairperson T. Anodina with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Director General G. Bisignani was held.
The issues considering implementation of the IAC-IATA Agreement from December 5.1994 were discussed.
IATA Director General noted the role of the Interstate Aviation Committee in promoting IATA initiatives aimed at flight safety and effective civil aviation in the region of contracting states to the Agreement on Civil Aviaiton and Use of Airspace.
IAC and IATA agreed to expand the scope of its cooperation by including the following aspects in the Agreement signed during the meeting of IAC Chairperson and IATA Director General:
Contribution to such IATA initiatives as IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), Integrated Airline Management System (IAMS), IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO), as well as other initiatives was made;
Promotion of ICAO Standard on Reduced Vertical Separation Minimums (RVSM) and performance based navigation (PBN);
Development of new approaches to flight safety level assessment taking into account not only existing but potential risks connected with aircraft accidents, etc.
