About extension of the Certificate to International Almaty airport

     On September 25, 2013 the Certificate to International Almaty airport for aircraft operations in adverse weather conditions of the ICAO IIIB category was extended by the Interstate Aviation Committee.
     Almaty airport is the only airport in CIS countries having the ICAO III B category IAC Certificate and in terms of technological infrastructure is among the best airports in the world.  
     International Almaty airport is the leader in cargo operations segment of Kazakhstan airport and Central Asian region and given that during operation period since December 2011 III B category aircraft flight regularity has significantly increased. Almaty airport has become even more attractive for the largest world airlines.   
     Airport and Kaz Air Navigation specialists continue their work on brining the airport and its facilities to the level of the highest international requirements.  
     ATC center equipped with the most advanced facilities of the leading world manufacturers has been built.
     The most advanced radio and lighting facilities and weather equipment, new ATC center, all this allows not only to ensure aircraft automatic approach and landing without decision height limitation but contributes to the development of flight safety as well.  
     During certification at Almaty airport a significant work on verification of airport radio and lighting facilities, weather equipment, power supply system compliance with certification requirements has been done by the IAC specialists jointly with representatives of Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan and Kazaeroproject. 
     The compliance of Almaty airport with certification requirements for aircraft operations in adverse weather conditions of the ICAO IIIB category was confirmed once again.
