About the ceremony of awarding Tatiana Anodina with the Legion of Honor

     The ceremony of awarding Tatiana Anodina with the Legion of Honor in accordance with the Decree of the President of France Francois Hollande was held in the Embassy of the French Republic in Russian Federation on September 12, 2013. 
     The IAC Chairperson was awarded with the Legion Honor on behalf of the President of France by Grand Chancellor of the Legion Honor, prominent French commander, army general Jean-Loi Georgelin. 
      In his presentation Grand Chancellor of the Legion Honor emphasized that the IAC Chairperson is awarded with the highest honor of the French Republic for the great contribution to development of aircraft science and aircraft equipment and strengthening of scientific and technical links and cultural ties between Russian Federation and French Republic.
     The role of T. Anodina in establishing credible internationally recognized organisation of the Interstate Aviation Committee contributing to development of aviation in a safe and orderly way at the global level in accordance with high international standards and cooperating closely with aviation industry, aviation authorities and Bureau of Investigation and Analysis of France was also emphasized.  
     In response the IAC Chairperson expressed appreciation to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic for highest award considering that it is great honor for her to become Commander of the Order that have been awarded to the prominent leaders of France and Russia.   
      T. Anodina emphasized that aviation industry refers to the outstanding human culture achievements and it is no coincidence that only several states of the world fully have it and she is proud that her professional activity in the field of aviation is closely connected with leading organisations of aerospace industry of France and leading scientists and specialists in this field as well.      
      In the early 80s the Trans-Siberian Railroad was opened for scheduled nonstop flights of international civil aviation and, by the way, such first flight was performed from Paris to Tokyo. In this regard it was required to equip airports and air routes with new navaids and communication, appropriate international standards and this work was successfully carried out jointly by French and Russian industry.
      At the end of 80s the extensive work on establishing international aircraft certification system jointly with French civil aviation experts and Airbus Company and A 310 aircraft was the first aircraft certified in Russia in compliance with international regulations. 
      In the middle of 90s jointly with French scientists and specialists of other countries the global navigation satellite system strategy which was adopted within the framework of the ICAO by all global aviation community was designed. As a result of adopted strategy the procedure of global navigation application, not only American GPS system but also Russian GLONASS was determined. 
      For the complex of these works in 1997 T. Anodina was honored with the ICAO highest Edward Warner Award.
      The IAC Chairperson emphasized that France was the first state signed international agreement which amount to 90  today and recognized the IAC after ICAO.
      Today the IAC Aviation Register proceeded to validation of A380 giant liner manufactured by EADS European aircraft company which is today the most advanced technological product, the largest, double-decker passenger aircraft in the world.
     RRJ-Sukhoi aircraft certification jointly with EASA was particularly complicated stage. This aircraft is the result of wide international cooperation in which aircraft industry of France actively participated. First time the engine was jointly designed and joint enterprise for its manufacture was established.
     It is noted that France was the leader of aircraft messages in order to have better access to aircraft market. This served an excellent example for other EU states. But for further development of our relations, tourism and business it is necessary to solve the issue of visa regime simplification.
      In conclusion the IAC Chairperson emphasized that in many prominent areas Russia and France are undisputed leaders of scientific and technological progress in the field of aerospace international cooperation based on trust, mutual understanding and deep respect for each other. She expressed confidence that this cooperation will continue for the benefit of international aviation development and continue to contribute to strengthening of the links between Russia and France.  
      Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic in Russian Federation Jean de Gliniasty and Chairperson of State Duma of Federal Assembly of Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of number of states, heads of ministries, departments and aviation industry of Russian Federation participated in the ceremony.
