About the workshop "Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft" (SAFA)

     Four-day workshop "Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft" (SAFA) held within the framework of the ICAO-IAC RER/01/901 international project "Development of operational safety and continuing airworthiness" was opened in conference-hall of "Ekipazh" hotel in Almaty on March 11, 2013.
      The workshop was organized by AIRBUS company jointly with the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) supported by Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan for aviation authorities of the contracting states of the intergovernmental Agreement on Civil Aviation and Use of Airspace and airlines.
      The following issues were considered at the workshop:
      - SAFA technical aspects and database;
      - SAFA inspection items:
      A. Cockpit
      B. Cabin,
      C. Aircraft condition,
      D. Cargo area;
       - Practical training at A320 aircraft provided by Air Astana Airlines.
      Representatives of aviation authorities of airlines of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the workshop.
