The Interstate Aviation Committee press-release
In connection with widespread mass-media publications the IAC informs that the Decision from November 4th this year of the Aviation Register of the Interstate Aviation Committee as the authority in the field of type certification/validation and the IAC statement from November 6th this year regarding Boeing 737 aircraft were not called off.
As has been previously stated the IAC Aviation Register expects notification about blended decision of the Federal Air Transport Agency and FAA of the USA about Boeing 737 type aircraft are in safe operation condition.
The IAC Aviation Register confirms that the decision about the suspension of all issued type Certificates for Boeing 737 during validation process was taken in connection with Federal Air Transport Agency management decision about the need to implement urgent modifications by designer-manufacture to ensure fault safety of pitch control system to ensure safe operation of Boeing 737 type aircraft fleet.
The Deputy of the IAC Chairperson read the IAC statement with Aviation Register Decision at the meeting in the Federal Air Transport Agency on November 6th this year in the presence of Russian airlines management. The Decision about operation of Boeing 737 type aircraft the Federal Air Transport Agency took behind closed doors without the involvement of the IAC representative.
The fact that the Federal Air Transport Agency head during a long period of time (more than 1,5 years) didn't inform russian airlines operating Boeing 737 type aircraft about its position presented to the Investigation Commission of the accident with Boeing 737 in Kazan and didn't take necessary measures mandated by the Air Code of the Russian Federation to the Federal Air Transport Agency as the Authority in the field of civil aviation is a matter of concern.
We suppose that the Federal Air Transport Agency will immediately disclose their blended decision about further safe operation of Boeing 737 aircraft in Russia.
The IAC considers that real necessary and immediate measures to ensure safe operation of Boeing 737 aircraft in Russia will not be substituted by PR-activity and pressure on the independent investigation and certification bodies.
The opinion of some experts and persons who try to deny the obvious link of the IAC Aviation Register Decision with safety of millions of passengers is surprising.
