On IAC’s Proposal for the ICAO Visual Aids Working Group

In the course of the first meeting of the Aerodrome Design and Operations Panel (ADOP/1, 9 - 13.02.2015) IAC presented ADOP/1-WP/14 Working Paper on the runway visual range (RVR) limits in Annex 14 “Aerodromes” providing amendments to this Annex of the ICAO Convention (Attachment 1).

IAC’s proposal was adopted by ADOP/1 meeting, as well as by the ICAO Air Navigation Commission, and passed on to be worked through by the ICAO VAWG (Visual Aids Working Group) functioning within the framework of the ADOP Panel.

IAC submitted an additional working paper related to this issue (Attachment 2) to the meeting of this Working Group, which was held in the period 29 February – 4 March 2016.

The results of the consideration of the proposals contained in the IAC’s working papers will be soon included in the VAWG meeting report and we believe that the topical issue brought to the attention of ICAO by IAC will find the necessary solution.
