On participation of the IAC delegation in the commemorative meeting arranged to concide with the 70th anniversary of the ICAO European and North Atlantic Office

On July 7, 2016, the Interstate Aviation Committee delegation headed by the Chairman, Dr. T. Anodina participated in the commemorative meeting arranged to coincide with 70th anniversary of European and North Atlantic ICAO Office held in Paris brining together the ICAO Council members, official representatives of the states and international organizations.

European and North Atlantic Office was established in 1946 initiated by the ICAO as regional authority responsible for air navigation issues in European and Mediterranean regions (EUR) and over the North Atlantic (NAT) in the early post-war period. Today the ICAO European and North Atlantic Office is the most representative Office responsible for assisting implementation of the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices in 56 countries worldwide.   

T. Anodina addressed the commemorative meeting emphasizing the importance of regional collaboration development and integration in the field of flight safety and aviation security including countering aviation terrorism and presented the Regional Office Director with a memorable souvenir symbolically called "World and security in safe hands of aviation".  

During the visit T. Anodina held a working meeting with ICAO President Dr. B. Aliu and the ICAO Regional Office Director Dr. L. de Almeida where they discussed areas for further ICAO-IAC cooperation, which has been actively developing within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding since 2001.

During the visit T. Anodina also met with the ICAO Council members, representatives of many states and international organizations who took part in the celebrations.
