From 25 to 27 April 2017 a Seminar on Technical Pilot took place at IAC’s premises within the framework of the ICAO-IAC Regional Project ‘Operational safety and Continuing Airworthiness’ (RER/01/901) with the support of Airbus Company. The Seminar was attended by over 70 experts from the CAAs and airlines of the Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Ukraine and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the Seminar Airbus experts delivered presentations on important aircraft operation issues and the role of Technical Pilot in the implementation of SMS. Among the topics considered were those related to the position of Technical Pilot in the view of the initial and continued airworthiness, aircraft release and interaction with maintenance and engineering services, as well as flight operation documentation and its customization, EFB and QRH tools, SMS and FDA, ADS-B.
The role of Technical Pilot in the context of the actual airline structure within the regulatory framework of the Member States of the Agreement was actively discussed.
Airbus experts readily answered the questions of those participating in the discussion.
The Seminar received positive feedback from the CAA’s representatives, airlines flight staff and engineers who expressed a desire to continue the discussion in future.
At the end of the Seminar all the participants received certificates and CDs with the presentations recorded.
