On April 28, 2017 representatives of the Interstate Aviation Committee took part in XXVII meeting of the Council on Healthcare Cooperation of the CIS Member States in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic) where together with others the issues related to the problems of medical support of civil aviation activity of CIS Memeber States were considered.

Participants of the meeting discussed results and prospects of collaboration in the field of healthcare and ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of CIS countries' population. Issues of intersectorial collaboration including prevention of emergencies in the field of public healthcare in civil aviation were considered.

Following the forum results, a permanent joint Working Group on the issues of ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of civil aviation of the CIS member states was established, its Regulations and Program of Activities were approved, and the Council recommended delegating relevant specialists to the ministries of health of the CIS member states for collective work.

The Council meeting participants were informed about the results of the 5th ICAO–WHO European Meeting of the Global Collaborative Arrangement for the Prevention and Management of Public Health Events in Civil Aviation (CAPSCA) – CAPSCA–EUR/5, held in Budapest (Hungary, October 2016). Given the relevance of the ICAO–WHO CAPSCA Programme, the Council took note of the invitation to representatives of health authorities of the CIS countries to participate in the regular 6th CAPSCA–EUR/6 meeting, scheduled for 12-14 July, 2017 in Minsk (Republic of Belarus).

The IAC is a participating organization of CAPSCA-EUR, which carries out cooperation and coordination of the activities of civil aviation authorities of the Commonwealth states to consolidate efforts on issues of medical support and the implementation of the CAPSCA Program.

Summing up the work of the Council on Healthcare Cooperation of the CIS Member States, Konysbek Zhusupbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Secretary of the CIS, emphasized that the participation of authoritative international organizations in the meeting demonstrates the participants' interest in close collaboration aimed at addressing important healthcare issues in the region.
