About 10th meeting of ICAO EUR Regional Expert Safety Team IE-REST and 7th meeting of RASG-EUR (RCOG) Coordinating group

On 4-6 October, 2017 in Baku, Azerbaijan Republic 10th meeting of ICAO EUR Regional Expert Safety Team IE-REST and 7th meeting of RASG-EUR (RCOG) Coordinating group were held. 

Meetings were organized by ICAO European and North-Atlantic Office supported by the Interstate Council on Aviation and Use of Airspace, Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), aviation authority of Azerbaijan Republic and were preceded by two-day workshop "Flight data analysis" (FDA).

Over 50 specialists from 13 states and 6 international organisations, representatives of FAA USA, EASA, IATA, Eurocontrol, Airbus, Boeing companies and others took part in IE-REST/10 meeting. Results of groups work on flight safety, flight data analysis, helicopters flight safety, CFIT events prevention, security in the field of ATM were considered during the meeting. EASA, IAC, Eurocontrol presented information materials on current research in the field of flight safety. Further ways in developed initiatives implementation in the field of flight safety at the regional level were outlined and material for report was prepared at the meeting. 

IE-REST group was established in 2013 at the initiative of the ICAO European and North-Atlantic Office in order to support  implementation of initiatives and measures on flight safety level development in a part of the ICAO European region which is not addressed by regulatory frameworks of Europen Commission and EASA in accordance with goals and objectives of European regional expert safety team (RASG-EUR). Initiatives and Measures on flight safety level development are currently implemented through harmonized efforts of international and regional organisations, regulatory authorities in coordination with services providers, airlines and aircraft manufacturers.
