On 4-6 October, 2017 in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, 10th meeting of ICAO EUR Regional Expert Safety Team IE-REST and 7th meeting of RASG-EUR (RCOG) Coordinating group were held.
Meetings were organized by ICAO European and North Atlantic Office supported by the Interstate Council on Aviation and Use of Airspace, Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), aviation authority of Azerbaijan Republic and were preceded by two-day workshop "Flight data analysis" (FDA).
Over 50 specialists from 13 states and 6 international organizations, representatives of FAA USA, EASA, IATA, Eurocontrol, Airbus, Boeing companies and others took part in IE-REST/10 meeting. Results of groups work on aviation safety, flight data analysis, helicopters aviation safety, CFIT events prevention, ATM security were considered during the meeting. EASA, IAC, Eurocontrol presented information materials on current research in the field of aviation safety. The meeting Further ways to implement the developed aviation safety initiatives at the regional level were outlined and material for report was prepared at the meeting.
The IE-REST group was established in 2013 at the initiative of the ICAO European and North Atlantic Office to support the implementation of safety improvement initiatives and measures in the ICAO European Region not covered by the European Commission and EASA regulatory framework, in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Regional Aviation Safety Group-EUR (RASG-EUR). Currently, safety improvement initiatives and measures are being implemented through the coordinated efforts of international and regional organizations, regulators, and service providers, airlines, and aircraft manufacturers.
