Within the framework of the implementation of the provisions of the Agreement between IAC and IATA and the meeting of the President of the Interstate Council, Chairperson of IAC T. Anodina and IATA Director General A. de Juniac, the Safety Performance Indicators Workshop was held at the Interstate Aviation Committee on 20-21 June 2018. About 40 leading aviation specialists from the CAAs and airlines of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Canada, Georgia, Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation took part in the workshop.
The workshop was held by IATA experts.
The seminar presented information on IATA's activities to address flight safety issues, discussed the GADM system, operational safety, the State Information Exchange Program, and the following issues:
- Determination of the safety performance level;
- Safety performance monitoring;
- Regulatory requirements;
- Safety objectives, safety performance indicators (SPIs) and safety performance purpose level;
- Methodology for SPIs definition;
- Acceptable level of safety performance (ALoSP);
- Safety data management.
The discussion of the specific examples and case studies of safety assurance methods based on the SPIs, as well as safety performance monitoring aroused great interest of the listeners.
The workshop was held within the framework of the ICAO/IAC Project RER/01/901 “Development of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness”.
