IAC specialists took part in CIS Conference on Combating Terrorism and Extrimism, as well as in joint anti-terrorism training of the competent authorities of SCO Member States "Eurasia-Antiterror - 2023" held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, on September 19-22, 2023.
The event was attended by competent authorities of eight States Parties to the Agreement and four SCO Member States, working structures of ten statutory and sectoral CIS bodies, executive bodies of eight international organizations, research and educational organizations.
During the conference the participants exchanged best practices in countering terrorism, discussed the state of scientific support for these activities and international counter-terrorism cooperation, including the issues of ensuring civil aviation security, noting that the activities of international terrorist organizations remain one of the main threats to collective security, both worldwide and in the CIS space.
The training included the following: summing up the results of the first stage during which coordinated operational-search activities were carried out in order to identify and suppress terrorist acts at critical infrustructure facilities, including civil aviation facilities; conducting the second stage of joint anti-terrorism training with demonstration of the work of the Republican operational headquarters of Kyrgyzstan and special operation to free hostages and neutralize terrorists. During the event, the Final Document on Combating Terrorism and Extrimism was adopted.
During the conference the leadership of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center (CIS ATC) and the Council of Boder Troops Commander expressed wishes for further close cooperation with the Interstate Aviation Committee in the areas of combating terrorism and extrimism, strengthening measures to counter acts of unlawful interference in the activities of civil aviation of the States Parties to the Agreement.
