On the Visit of the IAC Delegation to Mongolia

On 1-2 February, 2024 an official visit of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) delegation headed by the Chairman of the Committee O.Storchevoy to Mongolia took place. During the visit working meetings were held with the authorized bodies in the field of civil aviation of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development of Mongolia.

At the working meetings O.Storchevoy informed his colleagues about the results of the IAC’s work, as well as the plans for the further development of international cooperation. The Parties exchanged opinions on the issues of expanding bilateral contacts in the field of flight safety, aircraft accident investigation, airworthiness, certification of aircraft, aircraft equipment and its production.

For the purpose of ensuring a high level of flight safety and proceeding from the advisability of expanding cooperation and efficient use of the Parties’ resources, the need to exchange information and experience, as well as to train aircraft accident investigation specialists IAC and the Air Accident Investigation Bureau of Mongolia (AAIB) signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention, which is the development of the previously signed Memorandums of Understanding.

The Parties highly appreciated the level of interaction between IAC and the CAA of Mongolia that began more than 30 years ago and expressed confidence in the need for closer cooperation, having agreed to conclude new agreements in the field of maintaining aircraft airworthiness. The Parties also reached an agreement on the expediency of developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of aviation personnel training, high technology and exchange of experience for the purpose of ensuring flight safety and sustainable civil aviation development in the region.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia and IAC agreed to maintain contacts on all issues of ensuring a high level of flight safety in the region with the involvement of all interested structures of the interstate and international cooperation, civil aviation bodies and aviation industry enterprises.
