IAC took part in IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit

IAC delegation took part in the 80th Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit, which was held in Dubai on June 2-4, 2024.  

Over 1500 airlines, aircraft manufacturers, airports, international and regional organizations sent their delegates to the event, which was opened by UAE MInister of economy Abdullah Bin Touq Al Mari. 

A wide range of issues regarding aviation industry was discussed, annual reports on the state of aviation industry, a report on the work for the year were presented, forecasts for the development of air transport were given, risks for the industry caused by the current geopolitical and macroeconomic situation were considered. Much attention was paid to the issue of reducing carbon dioxide emissions by aviation and use of "sustainable aviation fuel" (SAF). A number of round tables with the participation of leading executives were held. 

During the event working meetings of IAC delegation with the heads of a number of airlines and organizations took place. 

IAC Chairman Oleg Storchevoy held consultations with IATA Vice President Rafael Schvartzman. During the meeting the parties confirmed their interest in developing further collaboration and contacts at a high level. They agreed to continue cooperation in the field of flight safety based on the Agreement on cooperation signed by IAC and IATA. 

The interaction between IAC and IATA in the region is long-term and constructive, based on many years of practice in conducting joint events to train aviation personnel, develop guidlines and guidance documents, data exchange and flight safety assessment. 

Note that the Agreement on Collaboration between IAC and IATA was signed 30 years ago, in December 1994. 

The next IATA Meeting is scheduled for June 2025.
