Chairman of the Interstate Aviation Committee Oleg Storchevoy and IAC specialists took part in a meeting on flight safety level in Russian civil aviation, which was held at the Federal Air Transport Agency (FATA).
Representatives of the MInistry of Defence of the Russian Federation, State ATM Corporation and Russian airlines took part in the event aimed at air accident prevention.
Opening the meeting, the head of FATA Dmitry Yadrov, emphasized that the enhancement of flight safety level is the priority for all representatives of aviation industry which is achieved by constant upgrading of the monitoring technologies, procedures and systems. "Summing up the results of 2024 and analyzing the occurences of the last year we firstly should focus on the sufficiency of the chosen activities, inplemented in order to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Together with the participants of aviation industry we will continue to develop proposals on improving flight safety. Our common task is to reduce to zero the number of air accidents during commercial transportations and to maintain this level", - Dmitry Yadrov told.
Airline representatives told what corrective measures they had taken to prevent rough landings and landings of aircraft on undesignated runways. The speakers agreed that it was necessary to record general trends in typical errors and take comprehensive measures to prevent them.
"The Russian Federation has delegated the Interstate Aviation Committee the investigation authority to investigate air accidents and our close cooperation in this field gives positive results on enhancing flight safety level. We are actively working together and we are ready to share our accumulated experience. Let me remind you that we have training programs for inspectors on air accident investigation", - Chairman of the Interstate Aviation Committee Oleg Storchevoy told.
The report on measures to improve flight safety level was presented by the Director of the IAC Department of Statistical and Situational Alalysis, Air Accident Investigation and Methodological Support Alexey Morozov. The report noted a number of key measures, in particular:
routine periodic monitoring of flying techniques at the flareout and landing stages according to flight recorders data
maintaining a high level of flight training in manual piloting as well as error correction skills;
intensification of work with psychologists in airlines as the research results show the important role of the phsychoogical component in decision-making;
assessment of methods and techniques for training cadets in civil aviation institutions.
Alexey Morozov drew attention to the manual «Prevention of Hard Landings for Pilots» published in 90s of the last century. According to the IAC expert, recommendations in this book are still relevant and they should be taken into account by crew.
The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance to combine joint efforts for increasing flight safety level and the need of continous work in this area.
