Chairman of the Interstate Aviation Committee, Oleg Storchevoy, participated in the annual forum "Transport Security: Realities and Development Prospects," held in Rostov-on-Don on May 14-15, 2026.
The forum was organized by the Transport Security Association, jointly with the Transport Security of the South Association, with the support of the Public Council of Rostransnadzor.
The forum was attended by representatives of state authorities, transport infrastructure entities, carriers, and transport security departments from the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts, Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions, Republic of Crimea, and Sevastopol.
The Chairman of the Interstate Aviation Committee delivered a brief report outlining the main areas of development for the Interstate Aviation Committee. "One of the important areas of our activity, especially in the current situation, is the coordination of programs to protect civil aviation from acts of unlawful interference. We are carrying out this work jointly with aviation security services, scientific and educational centers, in accordance with the CIS Cooperation Programme in Countering Terrorism and Extremism," Oleg Storchevoy noted in his report.
The forum featured an expert dialogue to disseminate best practices in transport security and exchange best practices. The most pressing issues in transport security were discussed, including legislative support, the specifics of implementing monitoring (supervisory) activities, organizing the activities of transport security units, and countering unmanned aerial vehicles to protect transport facilities.
Forum participants commended the event and noted that holding the forum annually allows them to monitor the dynamics of change, promptly respond to new challenges, and consistently move toward the common goal of ensuring a high level of security for transport infrastructure.
