IAC held a conference "Maintaining the Quality of De-icing Fluids"

On July 22, 2026, the Interstate Aviation Committee, jointly with the Autonomous non-profit organization "Scientific center for Aviation Laboratory" (ANO "SC Avialab"), held a conference "Maintaining the Quality of De-icing Fluids" as part of a series of conferences on aircraft ground de-icing/anti-icing.

The conference was attended by more than 110 representatives of aviation authorities of the Member States of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Use of Airspace, airlines, airports, aircraft maintenance organizations, de-icing/anti-icing fluid manufacturers, aviation educational institutions, and research centers.

Conference participants presented reports on the following topics:

- aircraft de-icing/anti-icing monitoring;

- сommunication of de-icing and anti-icing information;

- sampling of de-icing fluids;

- crystallization of glycol fluids;

- aerodynamic testing of de-icing fluids;

- acceptance and storage of de-icing fluids, de-icing storage facilities, provision and monitoring of de-icing and anti-icing conditions;

- external quality audits of de-icing and anti-icing fluids, general organizational principles; в

- new SAE AS6286E personnel training requirements.

Particular attention was paid to maintaining the quality of aircraft de-icing at airports, monitoring the quality of this protection, and government regulation of industrial activities in this area.

The conference "Maintaining the Quality of De-icing Fluids" aimed to address issues related to the safe operation of air transport and was held in a productive working atmosphere. A constructive dialogue between experts allowed for the exchange of practical developments and best practices in the field of aircraft de-icing.

Participants highly praised the effectiveness of such events in addressing pressing issues of aircraft de-icing and enhancing aviation safety.
