IAC presented its developments at an international seminar on scientific and technical support of air accident investigations.

On November 25-27, 2025, a delegation from the Interstate Aviation Committee participated in the annual Accident Investigator Recorder Meeting (AIR) of the International Recorder Investigator Group (IRIG).

This year, the seminar was held at the National Transport Safety Center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh. Participants included specialists from leading global accident investigation agencies from 16 countries, including Russia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, France, Taiwan, Brazil, the UK, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, Ireland, Malaysia, and Morocco.

The seminar is aimed at specialists working in the field of scientific and technical support of air accident investigations. It focuses on modern methods for recovering information from various sources of objective data: from crash-survivable flight recorders to crash-resistant avionics and personal electronic devices.

At the beginning of the seminar, Pavel Komardin, Advisor to the Department of Statistical and Situational Analysis and Air Accident Investigation, made a presentation about the IAC.

In the main session of the seminar, dedicated to the issues of scientific and technical support of air accident investigations, Alexander Dyachenko, Deputy Director of the IAC Department of Scientific and Technical Support of Air Accident Investigation, made a presentation on "Advanced Technologies for Data Recovery from NAND Flash Memory in Air Accident Investigations." In his report, he presented the most advanced technical solutions for recovering data from damaged memory chips, developed in the IAC laboratory.

The IAC experts' presentations attracted a genuine interest among specialists, as a number of solutions developed in the IAC laboratory are unique.

The annual AIR seminar facilitates an in-depth exchange of experience in the field of engineering methods that are critical to air accident investigation. Through international cooperation, AIR contributes to further experience in accident investigation, significantly enhancing air transport security.

The IAC's long-term participation in the seminar is significant for enhancing the competence of the Committee's specialists, improving accident investigation methods, and raising the level of investigation in the Member States of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Use of Airspace.
