10 июля  Ми-2 RA-23721

     The accident with Mi-2 RA-23721 helicopter occurred near Kogalym Airport, Khanty-Mansijsk Autonomous District (RF) on July 10, 2014. According to the available information the pilot on board was killed, the rotorcraft was partly destroyed.
      The Intersate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of the accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team started its work.
     

     The Investigation team of the Interstate Aviation Committee has completed the investigation of the accident with Mi-2 RA-23721 helicopter owned by Convers Avia Airlines CJSC occurred in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, RF on July 10, 2014.
     The accident with Mi-2 RA-23721 helicopter was caused by performng flight at the altitude 10-12 m not ensuring safe operation over obstacle that resulted in rotorcraft collission with aerial PTL wires.  
     It wasn't possible to determine exactly the cause of operation at the altitude 10-12 m but most probably the pilot during take-off distracted from helicopter piloting and outside monitoring due to the possible drop of HP iPAQ Travel Companion pocket PC from its attaching point used by PIC as non-standard navigation device.
     Lack of aerial PTL wires marking could be the contributing factor. 
     The appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
