The accident involving AT 104 RA-0691G hot air balloon owned by Aeronautic club Aerovals, LLC occurred in Revyakino village (Dmitrovsky District, Moscow Region, RF) on March 14, 2015. According to the available information, the pilot and 2 passengers on board were injured.
The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of this accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has stared its work.
The Interstate Aviaiton Committee Investigation team has completed the Investigation of the accident involving AT104 series, 72AT model RA-0691G Econom model hot-air balloon owned by Aerostatic club Aerovals, LLC occurred in the Moscow Region (RF) on March 14, 2015.
The accident involving AT104 series, 72AT model RA-0691G hot-air balloon was caused by incorrect selection of the approach flight path at the landing place closed from the approach side by mobile phone tower, unacceptable obstacle proximity and late decision for aerostatic balloon climbing to fly over it that resulted in hook of the aerostatic balloon shell on construction components, tower, shell burst followed by the car fall.
The straight ahead emergency landing during the aerostatik balloon motion towards the mobile phone tower most probably could prevent the accident.
The appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
