On May 8, 2017, the accident involving Bekas-103 RA-0285A private aircraft occurred near Zhelanovka village, Michurinsk District, Tambov Region (RF). According to the available information, the pilot on board was injured. 

The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.

The Interstate Aviation Committee Investigation team has completed the investigation of the accident involving Bekas 103 RA-0285A single-built private aircraft occurred in the Tambov Region (RF) on May 8, 2017. 

The non-fatal accident involving Bekas 103 RA-0285A aircraft ocurred during crop-dusting at extremely low altitude as a result of its collision with the overhead transmission line wire.

Most probably, the accident was possible was caused by combination of the following factors:

-  absence of PIC’s authorization for crop-dusting; 

-  late initiation of the flight altitude increase maneuver to pass over the overhead transmission line;  

-  absence of aeronautical charts and the failure to perform check familiarization flight at the expected aerial works’ site; 

-  inadequate management of crop-dusting; 

-  absence of power line wires' marking at the accident site area. 

Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
