The accident with Bell-429 RA-01617 helicopter owned by "FLASH ENERGY" LLC occurred in Ribatsky locality of the Aksaysky District of the Rostov Region on January 1, 2016. According to the available information the pilot and a passenger on board were seriously injured, the aircraft was destroyed.

The Interstate Aviation Committee has assigned the Investigation team of this accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work on January 1, 2016.

The Interstate Aviaiton Committee has completed the investigation of the accident with Bell-429 RA-01617 helicopter owned by "Flash Energy" Ltd occurred in the Rostov region (RF) on January 1, 2016.

The accident with Bell-429 RA-01617 helicopter was caused by PIC decision to continue approah in inadequate VFR conditions (fog) that resulted in spatial disorientation, rotor overweight, uncontrolled right-handed rotation up to ground collision.

Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results for improving flight safety have been drawn.
