The accident involving Cetus A-900 RA-1856G single-built private aircraft occurred near Kersha village, Tambov Region (RF) on October 22, 2016. According to the available information, the pilot on board escaped unharmed, the aircraft sank in a reservoir.

The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of the accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.

The Interstate Aviation Committee Investigation team has completed the investigation of the accident involving Cetus A900 RA-1856G singe-built private aircraft occured in the Tambov Region (RF) on October 22, 2016.

Most probaly, the accident involving Cetus A900 RA-1856G single-built private aircraft was caused by flight altitude misperception by pilot during high maneuvering at extremely low altitude above uncontrast, featureless water surface that resulted in uncontrolled decsending and water touchdown by landing gear legs followed by aircraft hard braking and water collection. 

Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
