Fokker 100 aircraft, registration UP-F1012, operated by Bek Airline performing flight Z9-2041 from Kzyl-Orda to Astana (Kazakhstan) with 116 passengers and 5 crew on board, was on approach to Astana when the crew could not extend the nose gear and went around. The crew performed the related checklists but it failed. The aircraft needed to land on runway 22 without nose gear about 50 minutes after the first go around, the crew kept the nose as long as practicable before lowering the nose onto the runway. The aircraft stopped on the runway and was evacuated. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage.
Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan initiated investigation of the accident.
Flight recorders data readout of the Fokker-100 UP-F1012 aircraft operated by the Bek Air Airlines involved in the accident in Astana on March 27, 2016 was held at the Interstate Aviation Committee laboratory on April 14-15. Copied data was transferred to the Investigation team. Activities on the data decoding are in progress in the IAC laboratory.
