The accident involving IL-103 RA-1467G private aircraft occurred at Panfilovo airfield (Altai Territory, RF) on August 12, 2016. According to the available information, the pilot on board was killed.
The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of the accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.
The Interstate Aviation Committee Investigation team has completed the investigation of the accident involving IL-103C RA-1467G private single-built aircraft occurred in the Altai Territory (RF) on August 12, 2016.
The fatal accident involving IL-103C RA-1467G private single-buiil aircraft, most probably, was caused by the loss of the flight speed resulted in stall and ground impact when performing turnout for the emergency landing immediately after takeoff.
Most probably, PIC's decision to perform the emergency landing was forced by the engine malfunction.
Most probably, the engine malfunction was caused by:
• leaning of the fuel-air mixture resulted from a "vapor lock" origination in the engine fuel system due to the engine continuous running at the parking place and during the ground maneuvering at the engine power configuration;
• using the automobile gasoline AI-92 with MTBE fuel dope which do not meet the aviation fluel requirements recommended by the aircraft flight and maintenance manuals;
• performing the activities on fuel-air mixture control by persons without the authorization for this type of maimtenance works.
Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
