On May 29, 2017, near Voronovo landing site, Volgograd Region (RF), the accident involving MD-50VG single-built motorized deltaplane owned by Technoservice, Ltd occurred. According to the available information, the pilot on board was killed, the aircraft was damaged.

The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.

The Interstate Aviation Committee Investigation team has completed the investigation of the accident involving MD-50VG RA-0047G single-built motorized deltaplane owned by Technoservice, Ltd occurred near Volgograd town (RF) on May 29, 2017.

Most probably, the fatal accident involving MD-50VG single-built weight-shift control aircraft was caused by PIC’s incapacitation that resulted in uncoordinated inputs onto the aircraft control system and a sideway turn of the aircraft towards the setting sun.

A possible contributing factor of the accident is that the pilot had not passed the regular medical examinations at medical flight expert commission for the last four years.

Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
