The non-fatal accident involving Mi-2 RA-14279 helicopter occurred near Novozavidocsky urban locality, Konakovsky District,Tver Region (RF) on November 13, 2014. According to the available information, two pilots and a passenger were on board. The rotorcraft sustained significant damage.
The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of this accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.

      The Interstate Aviation Committee Investigation team has completed the investigation of the accident involving Mi-2 RA-14279 private helicopter occurred in the Tver Region (RF) on November 13, 2014.
      Most probably, the accident involving Mi-2 RA-14279 private helicopter was caused by the pilot failure to properly monitor altitude during approach procedure in dusk over the smooth surface (zero wind) that resulted in controlled flight into water surface.
      Contributing factor to the accident was PIC's failure to switch radio altimeter on before operation that was violation of Mi-2 helicopter FOM regulations.
      The appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
