The Investigation team of the Interstate Aviation Committee has completed the investigation of the accident with Robinson R-66 RA-06205 helicopter owned by "Kustard" LLC occurred on January 20, 2015 in the Republic of Altai (RF).
Most probably the accident with R-66 RA-06205 helicopter was caused by engine flameout in flight that resulted in rotor revolution loss (thrust loss) and helicopter ground impact.
Engine flameout most probably was caused by fuel outflow and fuel tank intake denudation during uncoordinated (with sideslip) right turn with large bank angles (possible with exceeding 60° limitation). During yawed flight the turn force which contributes to the fuel outflow emerges.
Contributing factor was significant wind flow and orographic turbulence influence on helicopter during take off at low altitude in a gorge where the pilot wasn't familiar with wind conditions.
The appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were presented.
