The accident involving R-66 RA-06239 helicopter owned by Yugo-Vostochnaya Agro Group, Ltd occurred near Aviatorny village, Kirsanovsky District, Tambov Region (RF) on February 2, 2016. According to the available information, the pilot and a passenger on board were injured, the rotorcraft sustained substantial damage.

The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of the accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.

The Interstate Aviation Committee Investigation team has completed the investigation of the accident involving Robinson R-66 RA-06239 helicopter owned by South-Eastern Agrogroup, Ltd occurred in the Tambov Region (RF) on February 2, 2016.

The accident involving R-66 RA-06239 helicopter was caused by controlled flight into terrain as a reault of flight altitude monitoring loss by PIC above empty view snow covered featureless terrain with smooth ground elevation in first touchdown area corresponding to the helicopter flight level.

The appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
