The accident involving Robinson R-44 RA-04179 helicopter owned by Light Air Airlines, JSC occurred near Voskresenskoye village (Republic of Bashkortostan, RF) on 14 March 2016. According to the available information, the pilot and a passenger on board escaped unharmed, the rotorcraft was damaged.

The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of this accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.

Interstate Aivaiton Committee Investigtion team has completed the investigation of the accident involving R-44 RA-04179 helicopter owned by Light Air Airline, CJSC occurred in the Republic of Bashkortostan on March 14, 2016.

Most probably, the accident involving R-44 RA-04179 helicopter was caused by the flight altitude monitoring loss by PIC during emergency landing to a white field entering the weather conditions, which didn't comply with VFR.

The fatal accident was caused by late decision of the PIC to perform flight diversion due to deteriorating weather conditions.

Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
