The accident involving Robinson R-66 RA-06347 helicopter owned by Solnechny helicopter club, non-profit partnership occurred near Borki village, Ramonsky District, Voronezh Region (RF) on August 7, 2016. According to the available information, the pilot and 4 passengers on board were injured, the rotorcraft was destroyed.
The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of the accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.
The Interstate Aviation Committee Investigation team has completed the investigation of the accident involving R-66 RA-06347 helicopter owned by Solnechny helicopter club occurred in the Voronezh Region (RF) on August 7, 2016.
The accident involving R-66 RA-06347 helicopter was caused by the helicopter in controlled flight with wires collision at low height 5-6 meters above the water surface.
Most probably, contributing factors were the following:
- flying below 150 m;
- pilot's insufficient awareness during VFR flight;
- pilot's lack of consideration of the cultural obstacles in area of the flight;
- lack of power line wires' marking.
Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
