Non-fatal accident with Robinson R-66 RA-1981G private helicopter occurred in the area of Sidorenki locality of Serpukhovdky district of the Moscow region on April 9, 2016.

The Interstate Aviation Committee has assigned the Investigation team of the accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.

The Interstate Aviation Committee Investigation team has completed the investigation of the accident with R-66 RA-1981G private helicopter occurred in the Moscow region (RF) on 09.04.2016.

Most probably, the accident with R-66 RA-1981G helicopter was caused by the PIC’s disproportionate control inputs while transitioning the rotorcraft into descent that resulted in a crucial main rotor RPM loss, the vertical speed of descent increase up to ≈ 11 m/s and the collision with ground.

Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
