The accident involving Yozhik RA-0343G single-built aircraft (owned by Istra Electromechanical plant, JSC) occurred in Ternovsky District, Voronezh Region (RF) on September 24, 2016. According to the available information, the pilot on board was killed, the aircraft sustained substantial damage.
The Interstate Aviation Committee has formed the Investigation team of the accident in accordance with the Russian Aviation Legislation. The Investigation team has started its work.
The Interstate Aviation Committee has completed the investigation of the accident involving Yozhik RA-0343G single-built private aircraft occurred in the Voronezh Region (RF) on September 24, 2016.
Most probably, the accident involving Yozhik RA-0343G single-built aircraft was caused by the low altitude stall due to the loss of speed during the emergency landing.
The emergency landing was necessary because the engine had shut down in flight, most probably, due to the following failures: destruction of the piston rings, damage of the air impeller blades and sticking of the exhaust valves. Any of these failures, individually or in combination, could result in an engine failure.
The contributing factor was the improper aircraft maintenance.
Appropriate safety recommendations based on the investigation results were developed.
